In the summer of 2020, I took a trip to Diablo Lake, a popular destination in North Cascades National Park.
It was about a two hour drive from Woodway, Washington, and there were many beautiful views of mountains and wildlife on the way.

Highway 20 is very popular for tourists and weaves its way through the mountains.
Diablo Lake is known for its unique turquoise color. I was shocked at how vibrant the water was– I’d never seen water that color.

The lake and its surrounding area are popular for fishing, hiking, and camping. It was quite windy the day that I was there, but on a nicer day it would be a perfect destination for many different outdoor activities.
The lake isn’t necessarily easily accessible. The highway goes around the lake, but does not get down to water level.
If someone wants to get close to the water, they will have to hike or drive down.
North Cascades National Park has many beautiful destinations and I hope to return soon to see more and stay longer.
