One of my favorite places to spend my summers is Hood Canal.

Hood Canal is a branch off of Puget Sound in western Washington.

I have spent a lot of time there since my grandparents live there. From their house, there are beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains.

Hood Canal is a great place to see wildlife; from bears to whales, there is plenty of unique sights.

It is also very popular for fishing and crabbing. As a kid, I spent a lot of time crabbing with my dad.

The views at Hood Canal are breathtaking. Because of how big it is, there are plenty of state parks and other recreational areas open to the public.

Some of these include Twanoh State Park, Scenic Beach State Park, and Belfair State Park. These are popular amongst locals and those visiting from other locations.

However, some of them require purchasing a day pass for entry.

If someone is visiting Washington, I highly recommend visiting Hood Canal.
