One of the most unique places I have ever visited is Stingray City.
Located in the North Sound of Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, this tourist attraction brings in plenty of visitors.
There are a series of shallow sandbars where an abundance of southern stingrays can be found.
Visitors can interact with the stingrays by holding them and swimming with them– something that can’t be done anywhere else.
The Cayman Islands in general is known for its clear water and amazing snorkeling. Stingray City is unique in that it is legal to touch the animals.
When my family visited, we went with a charter company. The location of Stingray City can only be accessed by boat because it is a decent distance away from shore.
While many people think of stingrays to be dangerous animals, the tour guide explained that this is not actually the case. The stingrays at this location had become accustomed to human interaction over the years.
This was a very exciting adventure and I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting Grand Cayman or wants come interaction with wildlife.
